Here's what to do if your headlights are wired "backwards"  (Click her to go back to main installation page)

If your new HID lamp turned on when you tested it, congratulations, you can go back to the main installation page.  If the lamp did not turn on, fear not.  You have one more minute of work to make things right.  Turn off the lights and remove the 'extension cord".  Note the orientation of the 2 "extension cord" wires in the left hand picture below.  With the connector housing tab facing you, the red wire is on top.  Now look at the picture on the right.  Presto-chango!  The red wire is on the bottom.  The next paragraph shows how to make the 1-minute change.

Find a small screwdriver, tweezers, awl, etc., then look at the retaining tabs in the left hand picture below.  Be sure to supersize these pictures by clicking on them.  Those retaining tabs hold the metal contacts in the plastic housing.  By prying a tab away from it's contact as shown in the middle picture, you can pull the contact out of the back of the plastic housing.  The slightly glarey picture below-right shows the black wire contact extracted from the housing.  The contacts are very easy to pull out - if you have to fight with one you probably have not pried the tab over far enough.  Once both red and black contacts are free, plug them back in the housing as shown in the right-hand picture above this paragraph.

Plug your reversed "extension cord" back into the ballast and factory headlight connector and turn on the headlights.  If  the new HID lamp turns on, head back to the main installation page to continue with the installation.

If the new HID lamp still doesn't turn on, make sure that all the connectors are fully seated.  With the picture to the right as your guide, work you way from the factory headlight connector to the lamp connectors making sure each one is fully seated.  If the new HID lamp still won't turn on, check the lamp on the other side.  If it is also dark, you probably blew the headlight fuse.  Replace the fuse and try again.

If the other lamp is on, you can try substituting HID kit parts that would have been installed on the other side of the car.  Be sure to turn off the lights before unplugging the headlight connector!  We suggest starting by substituting the other lamp, then the igniter, and finally the ballast.  If you find a broken part, contact Acceleronics for a replacement.  If you can't get either of the HID lamps to turn on with any combination of kit components, make sure the headlight switch is off, unplug the HID assembly, plug the stock lamp back in, and turn on the lights.

If the stock light does not turn on, you either have a blown fuse or a wiring problem, or probably both.  If it does turn on, contact Acceleronics for troubleshooting assistance.
